Within the scope of BNP Paribas retail banking, BNP Paribas Personal Finance has expanded consumer credit in a number of countries, including Poland with Bank BGŻ BNP Paribas. BNP Paribas Personal Finance is therefore able to capitalize on the expertise of BNP Paribas in these countries and applies a model that takes into account local markets’ specifics.

In December 2013 BNP Paribas Group and Rabobank have reached an agreement on the purchase of Bank BGZ by BNP Paribas Group.

On 30 April 2015, following the relevant entry in the National Court Register, the merger of BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A. with Bank BGŻ S.A. was finalized.From that day forward, the bank is operating under new name: Bank BGŻ BNP Paribas.

BNP Paribas Personal Finance, which holds 100% of the share capital of the LaSer Group since July 2014, is also present in Poland through Sygma Bank.
The Bank BGŻ BNP Paribas and Sygma Bank Polska teams have been preparing for the merging of BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s Polish consumer finance businesses into a single entity. The 1 December 2015, Bank BGŻ BNP Paribas took over Sygma Bank Polska.

In February 2016 Bank BGŻ BNP Paribas and the Polish division of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation signed a new automotive partnership.
