9th edition of the BNP PARIBAS INTERNATIONAL BUYERS observatoire “Investing & Living abroad” section 1
BNP Paribas International Buyers has published the 9th edition of its Observatoire on the market for foreign non-resident buyers in France. This year, in addition to the section on market developments, the company has asked Ipsos Institute to realize an opinion study about the possible consequences of the Brexit announcement on behaviors and intentions of British buyers in France and in the euro zone. In this 2nd section, we note that the Brexit announcement in June 2016 caused 28 % purchases desertions in the euro zone but on the other hand, more than 6 Britons out of 10 (65%) are not ready to abandon or defer their project. Even better, 23% envisage accelerating their project.
As for the market, we note a slight decline in the number of transactions in 2016 (-3.6%) compared however with an exceptional year in 2015 marked by sharp rise in transactions (+28.7%). The British remain market leaders, with 32% of transactions in France against 34% the previous year. In Paris, Italians invest the most, followed by the Americans.
