BNP Paribas Personal Finance extends its business to Austria
Since 1 January 2017, BNP Paribas Personal Finance, leader in personal financing in France and Europe, has extended its point of sale consumer credit activity to Austria with the partnership created with a major retail bank on the Austrian market.
To launch the activity, a small team has been created around Miruna Senciuc, the head of the BNP Paribas Personal Finance Austria branch. To start with, they are offering one of the most classic and indispensable financial products: hire purchase. Things have got off to a promising start with over 3,700 applications financed in the first quarter.
For Miruna Senciuc: « In a few months, we will be able to broaden our attractive and innovative financing offerings on this market that is expected to grow by over 7.3% by 2019. This loan goes with our insurance offering by our partner BNP Paribas Cardif that we propose for all our financing projects.
Laurent David, CEO of BNP Paribas Personal Finance explains: « This partnership with a key player on the Austrian retail banking market reinforces our presence in Central Europe on a changing market. Our ambition, within the next three years, is to gain a foothold in the car loan market, still through points of sale. We also aim to develop the BtoC activity, i.e., propose our offering directly to Austrians through the Internet, for example, as we do in the 30 or so countries where we operate. ”
